One-Session Wonders
Select Mondays or Thursdays in the Pollock Alumni House
Do you need practical, research-based ideas to invigorate your teaching? Try one of the One-Session Wonders. These interactive, one-hour or less sessions take place in the Pollock Alumni House. Registration is required as enrollment is limited to allow personal attention. Find out more now.
Best Practice Certification
By attending at least five One-Session Wonders in semester series and documenting the enhancements to student learning that result, faculty can earn a $200 stipend. Find out more about Best Practice Certification.
Interim Intensives
Interim Intensives are multi-day workshops that take place during the Fall or Spring Interim designed to allow practical progress on a specific teaching and learning task. Get more information and find out if there are any Interim Intensives coming up.
SOTL Mentor Program
In this year-long program, faculty and instructional academic staff with Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) experience are paired with participants new to SoTL for dialogue related to scholarly investigation of teaching and learning. Discover more about the SOTL Mentor Program.
SOTL Pilot Projects Program
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) Pilot Project grants are designed to encourage those interested in SOTL to address a teaching and learning challenge, and expand their SOTL research experience by completing a project to present to the UW Oshkosh teaching community. The Provost's Teaching and Learning Summit is a full week in the Fall semester packed with programming, dialogues, panel discussions and opportunities for improving teaching and student learning at UW Oshkosh. Passport to Technology

ISSOTL Conference - Milwaukee, Wis.
International scholars, researchers and educators come together from across the globe during the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (ISSOTL) to share recent work and discuss how our collective efforts will impact the future of higher education. This year's conference is close to home in Milwaukee, Wis., from October 20-23, so make sure you attend and support your UW Oshkosh colleagues as they present their work. UW System Faculty College
Sponsored by The UW System Office of Professional and Instruction Development (OPID), Faculty College provides an annual spring opportunity for UW System faculty and academic staff to unite in concentrated study and discussion aimed at improving undergraduate teaching and learning. Some 100 participants attend three days of intensive, interdisciplinary seminars on topics related to teaching and learning. Each participant registers for two of the four seminars offered. The experience of the College enhances collegial interchange on teaching, contributing to a system-wide network of faculty and academic staff committed to educational excellence. Wisconsin Teaching Fellows & Scholars Program
Each participant in this UW System program undertakes a significant SoTL project, records the project’s progress on an electronic poster, and disseminates the results in public forums. Participants in the WTFS Program should be familiar with Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) research. Teaching Fellows and Scholars are expected to serve as leaders and mentors in campus and UW System SoTL work. Attendance at OPID-sponsored events and completion and presentation of a SoTL project are required. Look for more information and the application deadline in the fall. UW System President's Summit
This Summit, typically held in the Fall semester, brings together more than 200 faculty and academic staff to provide a forum to recognize and share the collective expertise of faculty and academic staff who excel at teaching, are committed to assessing student learning, and have engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
