How long can I take to complete my degree?
- All academic requirements applying to a degree must be completed in a seven-year time period. The time begins with the beginning date of the term in which the first degree course was taken. The time period ends with the date the final requirement is completed. Nursing has a more restrictive five-year limit.

- Am I allowed to take classes as a “special” student prior to being admitted to a program?
- Some programs allow students to take classes prior to being admitted. For more information regarding which classes are acceptable (if any), speak to the graduate coordinator of your intended program.

- What is the Admission to Candidacy?
- The Admission to Candidacy form is an agreed upon plan of study between the student, program and School of Graduate Studies which lists the course work a student has taken/will take to complete a degree. The form should be filled out once a student has completed 9-21 degree credits, and are in full standing.

- How can I obtain an unofficial transcript?
- Unofficial transcripts can be viewed and printed in Titan Web. Note that credits accepted in transfer will be noted as comments on the transcript. No transferred grades will be recorded, nor will they be included in the computation of grade point averages. Official transcripts can be ordered through the Records Department (920-424-1199). Transcripts are $5 for three-five day service, and $7 for 24-hour service.

- Where do I get information about and and application for graduation?
- Information about and the application for graduation are available on-line to fill-in and print, or download, print and complete. If you have any questions about applying to graduate, contact your graduate program office or the Graduate Studies office at 920-424-1223, gradschool@uwosh.edu, in Dempsey Hall 337, 800 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh WI 54901.

- What constitutes a full time student?
- Students are considered “full time” if they are enrolled in at least nine credits for the Fall or Spring semester or at least five credits in the summer session. If a student has a graduate assistantship, they are considered full time with six credits during the Fall or Spring semester, and three credits in the summer session.

- How many credits can I transfer into my degree program?
- Students can request credits be transferred toward their UW Oshkosh program. No more than nine credits may be transferred from other institutions. If students are already in a program, a written request must be submitted for program and School of Graduate Studies approval. Official transcripts must be submitted to the Graduate Studies office from the specified University with the requested transfer credits and grades listed on them.

- I have graduated. When can I expect to receive my diploma?
- Degree conferral review and posting of the degree to the transcript may take up to six weeks after the official end of the semester. The degree diploma will be mailed approximately 8-10 weeks after the official graduation date of the semester.

- How can I find out if my class has been cancelled?
- In the event of bad weather, contact your professor to see if your class has been cancelled. In the event that the entire University was shut down due to inclement weather or some other reason, the information is available on the University Weather Line at 424-0000.
