This field course is designed to provide students with the range of field skills needed by the practicing hydrogeologist to characterize subsurface geology and aquifer properties. Topics to be covered include drilling methods, geophysical techniques, well installation, determination of groundwater flow direction, and aquifer testing. The course includes lecture, lab, and field components. For each topic there will be an introductory lecture followed by a field exercise designed to give students experience with data collection.
