Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are computer programs and instruments designed to obtain, store, analyze, and display geographic data. This course provides and introduction to the fundamentals of FIS and the utilization of spatial data for solving geographic problems. Both theoretical concepts and practical applications of GIS will be examined. 471/671 (3+2)


Geography 391 or 591 with a grade of C or better or consent of instructor.
