SPANISH 525: Latin American Literature of the 19th and 20th Centuries

This course focuses on the critical reading and interpretation of Latin American literatures of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries considered within the socio-historical and national contexts in which they were produced. The course will include: short story, novelette, essay, poetry as well as theoretical readings, musical and filmic works pertinent to the study of the literature. Since this is a graduate course a high level of student participation will be expected.
