ELEM ED 546: Methods of Teaching English as a Second Language

This course reviews developments in second language theory and practice, explores ways to teach and integrates the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, both within ESL classes and in content area instruction. We will survey a variety of approaches to ESL methods, discuss ways to focus on culture in language teaching to create community among second language learners and to build bridges between schools and diverse linguistic and cultural communities.
