ENGLISH 585: Computers and Writing

In this course, students will explore the potential effects of computers on the writing process and on writing pedagogy. Surveys research on the effects of computers on the social and cognitive aspects of writing and studies some theoretical works that attempt to predict the ways in which writing will continue to change in an increasingly computer rich society. Students will analyze and critique hypertextual essays and stories and will compose hypertexts of their own.
