ENGLISH 543: Nature Writing: Optional Content

This course may be offered with different content. With a different subtitle, it may be taken twice with the signature of the department chair. A course in reading and writing about the natural world. Writers discussed may include Annie Dillard, Aldo Leopold, Henry David Thoreau and others. Student writing will represent a significant portion of the coursework. Writing assignments may include essays on natural history, journal entries, environmental advocacy pieces, eco-fiction and others consistent with the course focus. 343/543
