This course reviews developments in second language theory and practice; explores ways to develop curriculum and integrates the academic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in content-area instruction; surveys and critically analyzes, a variety of ESL and multicultural materials for elementary and secondary instruction; discusses ways to focus on culture in the curriculum and addresses ways to connect curriculum to second language learner assessment and instruction. 352/552
