Graduate Program Requirements and Deadlines

In addition to UW Oshkosh Office of Graduate Studies admission requirements, many of UW Oshkosh’s graduate programs have their own, additional admission requirements. Be sure to check for these requirements below.  It is also recommended you review the program's web site or talk with the program coordinator to be certain of all admission requirements.

A discount is available to UW Oshkosh alumni for Kaplan Test Prep for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, DAT, OAT, and PCAT.

Biology/Microbiology (MS)

Biology undergraduate degree or major in a related field; three letters of recommendation in the format of the form sent by the Graduate Studies office to the recommenders.

A combined score on the GRE verbal and quantitative sections of 295 or higher are necessary for full standing admission. The analytical (writing section) score is not considered when making decisions about whether a student is admitted in full standing.

A job description or résumé

Work experience in a public or non-profit agency. What constitutes work experience may include extensive activity as a volunteer or agency experience of relatively short duration if the work is sufficiently professional in nature. Questions about eligibility should be addressed to the MPA coordinator.

Statement of professional goals and objectives

A two-page paper reflecting on the following topic:

The National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) has identified four pillars of public administration - economy, efficiency, effectiveness, and social equity.  In up to two pages write a paper that explains why they are all equally critical to the successful practice of public administration today.
