Admission information for international graduate students
Because of immigration and travelling requirements, the process to apply for admission as an international student begins sooner, takes more time and involves more processing than for U.S. citizens and international applicants already living in the U.S. For these reasons international applicants should submit their applications by March 1 for fall semester admission or by Sept. 1 for spring semester admission. Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered on a space-available basis. Graduate assistantships, nonresident partial graduate tuition waivers and classes might not be available or very limited. Generally there is no summer admission for international applicants.
Admission information for re-entering or returning graduate students
The maximum period allowed without enrolling in graduate classes at UW Oshkosh is 24 months (6 semesters including summer). Students are eligible to resume classes within the 24-month period by simply registering and successfully completing program courses, based upon current program registration requirements.
Students who exceed the 24-month period without taking a course at UW Oshkosh must first get the approval of the program coordinator to resume classes (NOTE: A student's electronic record becomes inactive after 24 months). After program approval, the Office of Graduate Studies must also approve a student to resume taking classes. There may be additional time or program conditions to be met upon resuming classes after an extended break.
