Cognitive/Affective Psychology

Admission Deadlines

Preceding May 1 -  first deadline for admission and funding consideration - funding includes a stipend, health insurance and out-of-state tuition waiver.

Preceding August 1 - final application deadline assuming openings still available.  Applicants at this stage are considered on a first come, first served basis.


Application Requirements

Individuals interested in applying for UW Oshkosh’s Cognitive/Affective Psychology program must complete the following requirements and send all materials to the Office of Graduate Studies.

  • Complete online application for admission.

  • Submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty, psychology faculty preferred.  Please provide this form to your recommenders.

  • Have official transcripts from all regionally-accredited undergraduate and graduate institutions you attended sent to the address below.

  • Write and submit a personal statement (two to three typed pages) describing reasons for wanting to attend UW Oshkosh and your areas of research interest. Of particular interest are details about research experience including class projects, presentations, etc.

  • Submit scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  Have scores sent to UW Oshkosh (institution code: 1916).  UW Oshkosh alumni are eligible for a discount on the Kaplan GRE Test Prep.

Students interested in graduate assistantships can complete the online application form.
