University Studies Program: General Education for the 21st Century

Meeting our Alumni Mentors: April 8th Workshops Introduce Mentors to the Signature Questions

Alumni Mentors

At this first Alumni Mentor gathering, Oshkosh graduates participated in Signature Question workshops and enthusiastically shared their expertise. As we launch this civic engagement component of the University Studies Program, collaborative efforts to enhance student learning now include many Oshkosh Community Partners and the Alumni Association! Thank you all!

Pictured is USP Alumni Mentor Nancy Schumacher, a 1977 Elementary Education graduate who also received her MS in Education in 1983. A K-6 Reading Specialist, she recently retired after 33 years of teaching. Nancy served on the UW Oshkosh Alumni Board for 10 years. She is becoming fluent in Spanish and currently works part time at the Appleton Bilingual School. Like all of our Alumni Mentors, she is a model of civic engagement.
