University Studies Program: General Education for the 21st Century

Peer Mentors

With the launch of the University Studies Program every entering first-year student at UW Oshkosh has a Peer Mentor. The Peer Mentors are assigned to Quest I learning communities with one mentor for every 25 students. These Peer Mentors are connecting students to one another and to campus resources, using Facebook as one of the ways to make those connections.  Please click on the image below to hear Peer Mentor Joe Infusino-Braun make three wishes for USP students...

Thanks to Joe and each of the 72 Peer Mentors!

Peer Mentors are sharing ideas like these to help first-year students succeed:

· Go to every class                 · Ask questions
· Use campus resources     · Visit your professor during office hours
· Check your email                 · Hang out with your learning community
· Meet with an advisor           · Get involved in campus activities
· Start your ePortfolio             · Get to know your peer mentor!
