Community Experiences and Student Learning: Follow the Blogs

Core to their learning in the University Studies Program, all students will be engaged in on and off campus Community Experiences. For real-time examples of how community experiences enhance student learning, you may enjoy following the alternative spring break blogs of UW Oshkosh students next week:

  • New Orleans: Rebuilding

  • New York: Diversity and Inclusion

  • Washington DC: Hunger and Homelessness

  • Guatemala: Sustainability

  • Honduras: Education and Leadership

Thanks to Michael Lueder (and many others) for organizing these alternative spring break trips. Michael is also the coordinator of Quest III Community Experiences. He is supporting instructors and Community Partners as these courses are being developed.

Meet the USP Council

The USP Council is comprised of members of the UW Oshkosh campus community who are supporting the early implementation of this new general education program (2012–2014).

Douglas Roubidoux is a senior lecturer in the Communication Studies Department and directs the Fundamentals of Human Communication course, which is the Speaking component of the USP. Douglas is responsible for scheduling the courses, coordinating professional development, and integrating the Fundamentals of Human Communication course with the USP. He was also the director of the UW Oshkosh debate team for 13 years.
