CETL Lessons from the Center for Excellence in Teaching in Learning

UW System OPID Spring Conference: "The Value of Inquiry into Student Learning in the 21st Century"
April 18-19, 2013, Madison, WI
Register here by March 29!

The 2013 UW System Office of Professional and Instructional Development (OPID) Spring Conference will bring together over 200 faculty and academic staff across many disciplines to demonstrate the UW System’s commitment to excellence in teaching and student learning.

The conference will provide a forum to recognize, acknowledge, and share the expertise of faculty and academic staff who excel at teaching, value learning, and are committed to sharing their experience, knowledge, practice, and scholarship with colleagues. The intentional relationships among teaching, learning, and inclusive excellence will be a foundation of this event.

Congratulations SOTL Scholars

Karen King (Public Administration) and Victoria Beck (Criminal Justice) have been selected to contribute a chapter titled, "Using Applied Learning to Bridge the Classroom and the Real World" to Big Picture Pedagogy. This book will be edited by Regan A.R. Gurung and David Voelker of UW Green Bay and will also include a chapter authored by UW Oshkosh Senior SOTL Scholars (listed in an earlier CETL Lessons).

Anna Filipova (Public Administration) recently had a SOTL article accepted in the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching. The work was supported by a CETL grant and is titled, “The Impact of Thought Self-Leadership Education on Graduate Students’ Perceptions of Ethics and Cognitive Competences.”
