Teaching and Learning Resource Guide for STEM and SBE

Take a look at these resources for teaching and learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE).

Spring 2013 STEM Best Practices in Gateway Courses
Session times will be set based on participant schedules. Participants will receive a stipend.

This Best Practices Certification will focus on high impact practices in STEM gateway courses. Five one-hour sessions will include the following topics:

  • Designing engaging courses.
  • Using active learning in large classes.
  • Increasing retention through community building.
  • Creating effective “homework."
  • Sharing course innovations.

Sessions will be facilitated by a variety of faculty from COLS.
