Gifts made by credit card
The IRS has stated that a gift by credit card is deemed to be made on the day the card is charged against the donor's account (IRS Rev. Rul. 78-38).
In order for your credit card donation to the UW Oshkosh Foundation to be considered a 2012 tax-deductible charitable donation, it must be successfully charged (not simply postmarked) to your credit card account before midnight on December 31, 2012.
Please note that the Foundation will be closed December 29-31. We are unable to process credit card contributions on those days. Therefore, if you wish to make a credit card donation, please call (920) 424-2178 before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 28.
