Margaret and David Hodge Scholarship in Art Education
David W. Hodge, UW Oshkosh associate professor of art from 1964 to 1998, has established the Margaret and David Hodge Scholarship in Art Education in memory of his wife, Margaret, who passed away February 16.
Margaret taught dance and choreography at UW Oshkosh and also advised the women's gymnastics coach on dance-related matters. She was an energetic and devoted Camp Fire leader to girls at the Rose C. Swart Campus Laboratory School, where her husband taught art. Margaret held a position on the Citizens Advisory Committee for many years and was an enthusiastic supporter of revitalizing Oshkosh’s downtown. She also helped her husband hang shows in the UW Oshkosh Priebe Gallery and hosted visiting artists.
Margaret Hodge touched many people of all ages through her kindness, generosity and open heart. She believed profoundly in young people and was proud to call so many her friends. Margaret is survived by her husband, David Hodge of Amherst, and daughter, Catherine (Michael) Hodge-Bodart, of Allentown, Penn.
Scholarship contributions may be sent to the UW Oshkosh Foundation, 842 Algoma Boulevard, Oshkosh WI 54901.
