From her childhood memories of leading 13 cousins in performing plays to her love for learning and exploring, alumna Carol Kaufmann ’98 always knew she wanted to be a teacher. After high school, Carol started college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater before she moved back to Oshkosh after her sophomore year. The then Wisconsin State University Oshkosh had an enrollment cap, so Carol attended the Oshkosh Technical Institute for a two-year secretarial science program.
The UW Oshkosh Foundation held its 10th-annual Community Breakfast and report to the community to celebrate collaborations that help advance UW Oshkosh Sept. 18.
Dr. Joan Simmons, Ph.D., a senior faculty member in the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS), passed away unexpectedly in January 2015, after a brief illness. A scholarship for a candidate or current graduate student (full- or part-time), for licensure, a certificate or master’s degree in Literacy and Language has been established in her memory.
University of Wisconsin Oshkosh junior and first-generation college student Aleksandra Kubas received the 2015 Golden Titan Endowed Scholarship on May 16, as part of the Class of 1965’s 50th-anniversary celebration.
