
Gift from 1929 alumnus funds Kennedy Nursing Fellow Scholarships
Through a generous grant from the Dr. & Mrs. Hugh A. Kennedy Foundation in Corpus Christi, Texas, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing established Kennedy Nursing Fellow Scholarships. These distinguished awards recognize the top nursing students in the college.
“The Kennedy Nursing Fellow Scholarships allow the college to recognize and champion the commitment to excellence of our top nursing students,” said Rosemary Smith, College of Nursing Dean. “We appreciate the confidence the Dr. & Mrs. Hugh A. Kennedy Foundation has placed in our nursing program, and their commitment to advancing our work of developing the very best nurses for tomorrow,” continued Smith.
Hugh A. Kennedy was a 1929 graduate of Oshkosh State Teachers College who passed away in 2000.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Nursing is the second largest producer of baccalaureate prepared nurses in Wisconsin. The College offers undergraduate degrees which include: Traditional Program, BSN@Home, and Accelerated Program. Graduate offerings include: Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Family Nurse Practitioner.
