Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Goal
$2.2 million
The Situation
The world today demands more highly trained and educated professionals, yet just 18.8 percent of Northeastern Wisconsin citizens (compared with 27% nationally) have a degree. Many of our students are first-generation college students. For many talented men and women who would like to pursue higher education, finances create a significant obstacle. With more funds available for scholarships, we will be able to increase the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's competitiveness in recruitment and retention and provide enhanced academic opportunities to our students.
The Impact
The heart of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's pride. purpose. promise. campaign lies with a commitment to enhance opportunities for our students. By supporting scholarships, the campaign will make it possible for more students, including those with family responsibilities or who are embarking on second careers, to attain a bachelor's or master's degree. The scholarship endowment will enhance the University's ability to:
- attract and retain a diverse and talented student population
- provide access to students with financial need and assist them with the burden of a heavy debt load at graduation
- offset tuition increases so students can remain focused on academics
- encourage non-traditional students to complete their bachelor's degree studies
- offer students international study, field study and other classroom learning enhancements
The Promise
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has a proud tradition of providing access to a quality educational experience to Northeastern Wisconsin and beyond. It is that tradition that attracts quality students and prepares them to be productive citizens. It is that proud tradition that gives value to a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh degree. The endowed scholarship fund will help us deliver the promise of quality education to future generations.
