Foundation Board Chair's Message
Over the course of my four years as Foundation Board chairman, I have witnessed, with gratitude and pride, the incredible support offered by our alumni and friends. During my tenure in office, 10,850 different donors contributed to the Foundation and 97 new funds were created.
Several charitable giving trends stand out, among them the emerging practice of online giving, which makes donating simple and convenient. More and more donors respond to our Phonathon calls with credit card gifts, increasing pledge fulfillment and eliminating the paper and postage expenses associated with pledge letters and monthly reminders.
Ongoing, consistent sources of support—so important to the Foundation—include payroll deductions by UW Oshkosh employees and electronic funds transfer (EFT) donations from contributors who have authorized regular withdrawals from their bank accounts. The Forever Titan Club recognizes those alumni and friends who have contributed to the UW Oshkosh Fund for five or more consecutive years.
The Foundation has expanded its efforts to educate donors about the importance of planned giving, which enables donors to leave a legacy for future students by including UW Oshkosh in their estate plans. During the last four years, the Foundation received $1,433,325 through bequests and our Rose Legacy Society membership has grown to more than 130.
I look forward to following the continued success of the Foundation, and I thank all of those whose generous support made my time as president so fulfilling.
