Foundation Board Chair's Message
Thomas R. Kell '71
Our contributors empower us to accomplish great things on behalf of our students and our community. Through their support, 18 new funds were created at the Foundation in 2012. They embody an array of worthy objectives: to foster diversity, advance academic excellence, fund technological enhancements, expand sustainable initiatives, promote fine art and music, help students in need, memorialize the kindness and dedication of those we’ve lost and recognize the strength and potential of those who follow.
The Foundation distributed more than $550,000 in scholarships last year, including nearly $26,000 from donors to supplement endowed scholarship earnings so that award amounts, and UW Oshkosh students, would not suffer.
We are grateful to the benefactors who have remembered UW Oshkosh in their estate plans. The Foundation was fortunate to receive more than $136,000 in bequests last year. Planned giving makes it possible for many individuals to make substantial charitable gifts and achieve their philanthropic goals. We appreciate their commitment to the future well-being of the University.
On behalf of the UW Oshkosh Foundation Board of Directors, I wish to thank the nearly 6,000 donors who supported the Foundation in 2012. I am humbled by your loyalty and generous spirit.
