April 4, 2014: Oaklawn Diversity Night at Oaklawn Elementary School

Our taiko group participated in Oaklawn Diversity Night at Oaklawn Elementary School on Friday, April 4. We performed four songs and gave bilingual presentations.

The event started at 5:45 with presentations on many different countries/cultures such as Croatia, Egypt, El Salvador, Greece, Hmong, India, Korea, Russia, and Sudan. The large group performances started at 7:30 in the gym and we played four songs as the first performers. This was the first community event of this kind at Oaklawn Elementary School and the event was a huge success with a great turnout. We thank Oaklawn Elementary School for inviting us to such a wonderful event!
