Curriculum
- Requirement to enter into the major program: Complete 1st year Japanese (Japanese 110 and 111) or pass a placement test demonstrating equivalent skills
- Requirements to graduate with B.A. in Japanese Studies
- Minimum 2.25 GPA in major courses
- Complete the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test or ACTFL OPI
- Complete an oral exit interview (in Japanese)
- Submit three performance assessments (student choice) from three different courses used in the major plus the Senior Thesis to be part of a student portfolio

- Appropriate classes taken in Japan in an exchange program officially endorsed by UW Oshkosh or UW Whitewater may be substituted for language and culture courses that cover equivalent or similar content.
