Did you take German in high school? Would you like to:

  • make your hard work in German count in college?
  • take your speaking and writing skills to the next level?
  • increase your knowledge of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland using German?
  • earn a credential in German that appears on your transcript?
  • stand apart on the job market by demonstrating achievement in German?

Take the Wisconsin Placement test in German to see if you are eligible for retro credits—you may be able to complete the certificate more quickly. Contact the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures (Clow Faculty Tower 317) with questions OR declare the certificate in UARC (Student Success Center 202)!

The Language Certificate in German (15-17 credits) requires a minimum of C in each German course. Three (3) of your nine (9) 300-level credits must be taken via UW Oshkosh coursework.
