Paying Your Bills

After the financial aid has been electronically disbursed to your student account at UW-Oshkosh (e.g. after going through application and receiving financial aid processes), Student Accounts office deducts all the billed costs from your aid, such as tuition, room and board (if applicable).

Change Checks

If amount billed to your account is less than amount of the financial aid for the semester, then the students are issued a "change check" for the difference. The checks are available for pickup at the Cashier's Office in Dempsey Hall (2nd floor) starting the first day of the semester. Some aid (for example, Pell Grant) is not disbursed until later in the semester. Therefore, some students may have change checks available later in the semester. The Cashier's office will send an e-mail to a student's UW-Oshkosh e-mail account when his/her change check becomes available. Direct Deposit! Change checks can be deposited to a student's bank account via direct deposit. For no more long lines, special trips , more convenience and information, please see here.

Changes in Enrollment

You may be billed for a portion or all of your financial aid if you drop credit hours or are not at the minimum credit level (6 credits undergrad, 4.5 credits grad) required for aid eligibility. If you are planning to attend part-time (less than 12 credits for undergrad students) or considering dropping a class, it is important to consult with a Financial Aid Office counselor.

Payment Deadlines

Each semester students receive a bill from Student Accounts for their tuition, room and board (if applicable). The bill is due in full by the deadline indicated on the bill or the students can go on an installment plan, where the payments can be done in three installments. For more information on or questions about bills, installment plan application ("Partial Payment Credit Plan"), and deadlines, see Student Accounts office website.
