Kim’s Nuclear Gamble

Kim’s Nuclear Gamble (1999) This Frontline documentary tells a chilling story of a North Korean leader who has so mismanaged his Stalinist regime that at least a million Koreans have died of starvation. Kim’s gamble is that by developing a nuclear capability he can blackmail such countries as the United States and South Korea to provide massive food, oil supplies, and nuclear reactors in an effort to neutralize his nuclear ambitions. That Seoul is within range of perhaps 1000 North Korean missiles complicates the diplomacy associated with curtailing Kim.
