Paul the Emissary (1998) Purports to be an accurate portrayal of Paul from his vision of Jesus. Garry Cooper, as Paul, rival’s Charlton Heston’s Moses (The Ten Commandments) in historical incredibility. Intimate aspects of the Peter-Paul conflict, various scenes of Paul performing “miracles,” and the description of Paul saving passengers on a shipwreck while Rome bound are presented in vivid detail. Paul’s finale was a touching farewell, after a successful audience with Nero, but then came the burning of Rome and Christians being hunted as scapegoats. Historical cinematography run amuck.
