Bill Moyers: Healing and the Mind(1993) This path-breaking Bill Moyers’ series on healing with the mind as well as ‘alternative medicine’ is as cutting edge today as when it was produced fourteen years ago. Mr. Moyers engages in a comprehensive and provocative exploration of non-Western approaches to healing, with great respect accorded to Chinese techniques.
I consider this a major breakthrough in Western attitudes towards non-Western holistic healing practices. Personally I particularly appreciated the focus on biofeedback for patients and the horror that medical trainees experienced, when they spent 36 hours in a hospital as an anonymous patient.
