Islam (2000)

Islam (2000) Islam's rich history, spiritual message, and golden age deserves understanding by Western audiences. The distortions of biased Christian accounts of Islam deserve refutation. Islam, unfortunately, presents a romanticized account of Islam that is historically false and does a disservice to Islam. It starts with a highly selective account of Mohammed's revelations and his crafting of the first Muslim community. No where does it explore the fullness of the Koran. One gains no knowledge of the emergence of various caliphates, then their splits. Certainly the Crusades were a Christian calumny, as the video depicts. Also, the Golden Age of Islam was in sharp contrast to the European Dark Ages. Islamic scholars have described in vivid detail why the Golden Age crumbled for Islamic religious and societal reasons. This video's explanation of the decline of the Golden Age is incomplete and misleading..
