President Gerald Ford

Gerald Ford: Healing the Presidency (1996) This A&E biography is a fine tribute to a decent American president who has been almost forgotten in history. Gerald Ford, preparing to conclude a commendable career in the House, was suddenly thrust into the spotlight by Vice President Spiro Agnew's forced resignation and Nixon's impalement on Watergate. President Ford never fully recovered politically from his pardon of former president Nixon. He probably knew this would occur, but he chose what he thought was right for the country. His presidency was a series of hits and misses, culminating in nearly winning re-election against former Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter.
