Explorers of the New World (13-volume Schlessinger Media , 2000)This is a rather standard, perfunctory documentary series covers the English, French, Spanish and Portuguese explorers with other volumes that feature Columbus, Pizarro, Cortez, Magellan, Marco Polo, Henry Hudson and Lewis & Clark. The basic gimmick to hook antsy younger students is a gimmick of historical portraits coming alive and some reenactment of history. It features map, route and data reviews. These 20-minute vignettes are intended for middle school audiences.
