Thiel Again: Board Not Trying To Sneak Something Past Voters

Tony,

I definitely do not have a high opinion of the Northwestern but to say that you have no idea what this referendum is about, I believe, is because you are really not interested in finding out.

The public forums regarding the referendum (I attended both) were NOT "a pissing contest between Dennis and Pat and I think the explanation of the district's needs were easily understood. I did not see you at either forum so how can you judge?

I also think it is extrememly unfair to say that we are trying to "sneak" a referendum through. Perhap you didn't catch the news that Green Lake had a referenda vote on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 and the voter turnout was around 40%. That is a higher percentage than Oshkosh has had in the April election. There is no way to be sure what the turnout will be on November 6, 2001. The reason we chose November is that if we wait until April it will delay the building projects by 6 months or more, NOT because we are trying to "sneak something past the voters".
