- From the September 18, 2002 Appleton Post-Crescent "It's Your Call": WHERE WAS PRIEBE? The Post-Crescent did not publish the number of votes the Democratic candidate for district attorney in Winnebago County received on Sept. 10. Brad Priebe got 7,924 votes, according to the Winnebago County web site. This represented more votes than what was received by the winner of the Republican primary, William Lennon, who got 6,908 votes. Why was this information withheld from the readers of The Post-Crescent? Why does The Post-Crescent continually treat the Democratic Party of Winnebago County as though it does not exist? Surely, the fact that Brad Priebe got more votes than the winner of the Republican primary ought to be a morale-booster for everyone seeking real change and reform in the office of district attorney in Winnebago County. By withholding that information, The Post-Crescent allowed its Republican political prejudice to influence its reporting of what happened on primary election day. -- Bill Herziger, Neenah
