Ed Wilcox: Democrats' Deceit Exposed on November 5th

What happened with the Nov. 5th election? Here is what I think happened. Democrats in congress frequently deceive the voters such as they always do with the budget. It is the House of Representatives that writes spending laws by rule of our constitution but Democrats blame the Republican Presidents for the spending which Democrats do.

In the Senate the Republican party's main power is to stop the voting when the Senate will allow the House to deceive voters. This setup always worked well for Democrats because they just blamed Republicans for the budget and spending. Media always let them say this as fact. When Republicans would explain; media would report that as a claim. Voters thought Republicans caused the deficit even though for most of our lifetime, spending has been written by Democrats. So now with Republican control of the House, spending is under control and other important laws have been passed by the House. Because the constitution does not allow the Senate to start spending laws, the Senate usually starts these other important laws but chose not to under Democrat control. With majority power in the Senate it was up to the Democrats to call the vote but they did not.

Back when Republicans protected the budget in the Senate by stopping the voting, it was called gridlock. This label was an attempt to make Senate Republicans go along with high spending written by Democrats in the House of Representatives. Why don't Republicans participate in the name calling and holler gridlock now? It appears that what happened is that Democrats stopped Senate voting from a power position and planned to blame Republicans. Their deceit failed when the President told on them. Remember when the Senate Democrat leader got violently angry pounding and accusing the President of things he didn't say? Daschl knew he was not getting away with the deceit and would lose the Senate majority. That is what made him so angry. The President said the whole Senate wasn't acting but Daschl accused the President of saying Democrats did it, because Daschl knows Democrats did do it. The president foiled the Democrat plan early by just giving the voters a little fact to make their decision on. Democrats counted on being able to use media for the usual deceit of blaming Republicans for what Democrats do but they couldn't hide behind the Bush.

Democrats should have listened to Jesse Jackson and stayed out of the bushes. Democrats would have done better to have an honest vote and not use their usual deceit but they have been deceiving for so long that they don't have any other plan. Democrats lose when their true agenda comes out from behind the bushes that is why Democrats complain when their record is exposed. Democrats should be proud of their record and not call it dirty campaigning when a Republican points out what Democrats do by showing the record. It is the name calling and false accusations that Democrats do which is dirty campaigning.
