Wisconsin's Answer To Jesse Ventura?

While Wisconsin and national media have treated Libertarian Party candidate Ed Thompson as the Jesse Ventura of the 2002 race for governor, the fact of the matter is that Ventura in Minnesota ran as a Reform Party candidate. On June 17, 2002 Wisconsin Reform Party candidate Alan Eisenberg appeared on Commentary. Eisenberg said that if elected he will give "new meaning" to the word "veto." Eisenberg called for dismantling the State's bureaucracy, especially the Department of Transportation and Department of Natural Resources. He also said that the salaries of police officers, firefighters, and teachers should be doubled and paid for by an increase in shared revenue payments to cities. Eisenberg is seated in the picture below on the far right. Next to him is his Winnebago County campaign coordinator Steve Barney. Mr. Eisenberg's website is at www.alaneisenberg.com.
