COMMENTARY . . .

Want to be on the Commentary Update email distribution list? Email Tony Palmeri at Palmeri@uwosh.edu

Note: The Commentary Updates began as an effort to build support for the program. Let me explain: The most recent incarnation of "Commentary" began in June of 1999 under the guidance of Doug Freshner. In May of 2000, then UW Oshkosh Chancellor John Kerrigan developed an intense dislike of Commentary, to the point where he actually had then "special assistant to the chancellor" Tom Grogan call me to tell me that we would no longer be able to tape the program with Freshner. Then editorial page editor of the Oshkosh Northwestern Jim Fitzhenry editorialized about the effort to end the program. At around the same time, I started creating an email distribution list of people I knew supported Commentary. I began emailing these folks with updates about the status of the program.

By April of 2001 the Commentary Updates started to become web newsletters. By early 2002, the Updates were being produced on a weekly basis, each one including a variety of links to local, state, national, and international sources. Meanwhile, the email distribution list expanded from about 20 in 2000 to about 300 now. Do you know someone who might like to be on the email distribution list? Just send me their email address or have them email me at Palmeri@uwosh.edu.

Below are links to every Commentary Update produced since April of 2001. Within each Update, the majority of web links are still intact. Please report inactive links to me.

Commentary only survives because of the support from Information Dogs like you. Jim Mather and I want to say THANK YOU!! --Tony Palmeri
