Commentary Update for June 19, 2001: Ron Harrell, Jackson St.,

Dear Commentary Watchers:

On Wednesday Mr. Mather and I will interview Ron Harrell, a much loved and admired Journalism teacher at Oshkosh North High School who recently announced his retirement. You may have noticed that the Oshkosh Northwestern's managing editor wrote a column in praise of Ron a few weeks ago, and today the newspaper published a very eloquent letter from one of Ron's former students.

On another matter, the Jackson St. widening issue has heated up again, this time with the Mayor and City Attorney taking offense at a web site authored by Jackson St. resident Harmon Seaver.
