Friends of Commentary:
This Wednesday, Jim Mather and I will interview four guests on the topic of the "digital divide.":
*Steve Heins: Marketing Director for NorthNet, an Oshkosh based Internet Service Provider. An overview of Steve's thoughts on a variety of Internet related topic can be found at http://www.uwosh.edu/faculty_staff/palmeri/steveheinsfile.htm
*John Nichols: Director of the Oshkosh Publlic Library. Mr. Nichols was recently featured in a National Library Journal cover story on the topic of "What Libraries Need to do to Survive."
*Bill Wresch: Associate Vice-Chancellor at UW Oshkosh and author of the highly regarded Disconnected: Haves and Have Nots in the Information Age (Rutgers University Press, 1996).
*Martin Gruberg: Professor of Political Science, UW Oshkosh. As President of the Fox Valley Civil Liberties Union, Dr. Gruberg has much of interest to say regarding the constitutional issues raised by a global medium such as the Internet.
Have any thoughts or questions about the digital divide that you would like us to share with the guests? Please e-mail them to me.
