State Senator Carol Roessler (R-18th District) handed out Packer schedules at the 4th of July 2002 Parade in Oshkosh. In 2000, Roessler won re-election handily (by a more than 2-1 margin) against her opponent, UW Oshkosh Economics Professor M. Kevin McGee. Mr. McGee ran a television commercial called "Searching for Carol Roessler" in which he argued that the Senator actually resides in Waunakee, a town significantly outside of her district. The voters did not buy McGee's pitch, but one wonders if the campaign finance imbalance had a little something to do with that (figures from the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign):
