HANDCHIMES AND ENGLISH HANDBELLS
Dr.
Kenneth Liske and Brianne
Lenzner, Instructors
|
Class participants will explore the elements of music (rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, texture, form, and dynamics) while learning to play handchimes and English handbells. These instruments have a rich tradition in Western musical culture. Participants will create a handbell ensemble to rehearse music in a variety of styles, them perform a "virtual recital" available for online listening. Basic music reading skill is helpful but not necessary. |
