proclaimed kickball champions in the annual COBA tournament, going
undefeated!

Alumni, spoke to us about his job as a Retirement Planning Consultant
for
Medavante. Kyle also talked about his decisions regarding
graduate
school. This was on Monday, September 20th at 6pm.
- Professor Ryan Haley
had
a workshop
for students interested in attending graduate school on Monday,
September
29th at 4pm. Students received a copy of our handbook on Applying
to Graduate School.
- Professor Elsa
Galarza,
of the
Economics Department of the Universidad del Pacifico, in Lima, Peru
spoke
about her work for the United Nations. She assesses the impact
that
economics has on the environment in Peru and other Latin American
countries.
This was on Monday, October 11 at 6pm.
- Jolene Meunier, a
UWO
Economics
Alumni, visited us to talk about her job in the International Sales
Division
of Oshkosh Truck on Monday November 29th at 6pm. ESA T-shirts
were
given out with this year's slogan -- "We Do It With Models."

on Monday Feb. 23rd at 5:30pm.
- Jordan Beck, UWO
Alumni

PhD student at UC Berkeley visited us on March 25th to talk about
applying
to graduate school and what to expect when you get there.
- Craig Dunphey of
Kimberly Clark
talked about his job and his education. Mr. Dunphey has both an
MA
in economics and an MBA from the University of Iowa. He spoke on
Monday April 3 at 5:30pm.
- Our annual Chicago
Field
trip
was Thursday April 15th--we visited the Chicago Board of Trade and saw
the Cubs play the Pittsburgh Pirates.

was Friday April 30th at the Granary.

President of M&I Bank, also spoke about career decision-making and
interviewing on Dec. 1st at 5:30p.

- Dr. Laura Dresser,
Economist at
UW Madison Center on Working Wisconsin (COWS), will talk about labor
issues
in Wisconsin. This event will take place Monday, March 24th at
3pm.

Joint Meeting,
Guest Speaker Anna Kovzik. Anna graduated from UWO last year with
degrees in economics and finance. She is currently an analyst at
Strong Investments in Milwaukee. She will speak April 2nd, 6:30pm
in Reeve 201
- Chicago Trip, Wed.

visits to the Chicago Board of Trade, the Federal Reserve Bank of
Chicago,
and the Cubs at Wrigley Field. It didn't rain this year, and the
Cubs won!
- Departmental
Banquet--honor graduating
seniors and outstanding economics majors. The Banquet was held on
Friday April 11th at the Gardenview Restaurant on Jackson St. Our
guest speaker was UWO economics alumni Chad Cotti. Outstanding
Graduating
Senior was Jordan Beck. Our research paper of the year award went
to Lucas Jackson for his paper "Labor Market Choices and Collegiate
Academic
Performance." Caleb Dahl was our "Rookie of the Year," receiving
the Outstanding New Major Award.
