• Meteorite and comet impacts: chapter 4 of Bevan French's book 'Traces of Catastrophe' is an excellent summary of petrographic characteristics (and megascopic ones) caused by shock metamorphism.  The complete book, or individual chapters, can be read and downloaded.
• This is a great website at the USGS that has graphics to help visualize how cross-bedding and bedforms develop (based on Rubin, D.M., and Carter, C.L., 2006, Bedforms and Cross-Bedding in Animation: SEPM Atlas Series No. 2).
