Honors Interdisciplinary Seminar ( IDS 175)TRUTHStudy Questions |
"I AM THATI AM" |
Study Questions have been prepared for all of the assigned texts to guide you as you work through what are likely to be unfamiliar, and surely to be challenging, readings. You should use the questions as guides in your review of the material ahead of class. Although you should take notes on the readings, you need not write out answers to questions in advance of class discussion (though you may want to jot down page references). Class time will be used to discuss and to begin writing up the questions. The aim here is to reinforce your understanding of the material following our class discussion and hone that knowledge through written responses in a somewhat less formal context.
The three required Study Question submissions will be graded on a simple 30-point scale designed to allow you to achieve a high level of success based on the fact that you read the material carefully and participated productively in the class discussions of the study questions. I will not correct grammar/mechanics, but you must write clearly and refer specifically to the texts. Your submissions must be appropriately formatted (sample provided in class and via D2L), written in complete sentences with page references, and effectively responsive to the questions. If you miss class on the day we are scheduled to discuss the questions, you may submit them for partial credit. Late study questions will be docked one point for each day they are late.
Please click on the links below to get the study questions for each of the readings (Although not all readings or questions will be submitted, you need to be prepared to discuss all of them in class):
