This page contains information about Asperger Syndrome (AS). Asperger Syndrome is a relatively new category of developmental disorder. The term Asperger Syndrome was originally and very accurately described in the 1940's by a Viennese pediatrician, Hans Asperger. Children with this disorder have abnormalities in three broad aspects of development: Social Skills, Language for communicative purposes and a limited but intense range of interests. Asperger Syndrome is considered the mildest and highest functioning of what is known as autism.
