Dyslexia is a neurologically-based, often familial, disorder which interferes with the acquisition and processing of language. It is found that dyslexia causes difficulties in the phonological process of spelling, writing, reading and working with numbers. People who are dyslexic:

• may have difficulty putting things in order
• have a tough time following instructions
• may confuse left and right
• are slow in reading
• will insert, omit or put in the wrong order letters, syllables and words
• have low vocabulary skills
• show poor handwriting
• have an inability to put thoughts into writing
• may have a difficulty in mathematics
