SAGE (Student Achievement Guarantee in Education): The class size is limited to 15 students to enable each child to have more one on one or small group instruction. Many additional benefits are gained from this program including state funding for additional instruction and programs.

Once a month, SAGE families are invited to SAGE Family Fun Night which consists of a free meal, entertainment, educational tips for parents, supplies and books for home use (example: dry erase board, marker and eraser, books, games, etc.), and door prizes for children and families.

Diversity means sharing cultural customs of our students through song and dance. Family members have shared their special talents with us in the classroom and at our SAGE programs. This has been an important part of helping all of our students feel especially proud of their diverse cultures.

We enjoy cooking in kindergarten. We make simple non-cooking snack items to go with a story, taste apples in the fall, or make dirt cups in spring.

We celebrate each student's birthday and create a poster for our classroom door. Each child goes to the office to receive a book from Lincoln School on his/her birthday. Sometimes children bring treats to share.

Show "N Tell, Student of the Week, and "Just a Minute with Moo" are ways we learn more about each other. Just a Minute with Moo is oral sharing and questions led by our reading specialist, Mrs. Smith. We learn how to be good listeners and to ask questions that relate to the topic.

Yellow butterfly

In the spring, we construct a butterfly house and observe the growth and various stages of caterpillars transforming into butterflies. The children enjoy the process, and have a great experience setting them free.

Children at a zoo viewing a deer

Our culmination to the kindergarten year consists of an all day field trip where we practice the many social skills we've learned throughout the year. We look forward to visiting the Children's Zoo in Green Bay where we have the opportunity of seeing the many animals and habitats we've studied. Parents are invited to join us as chaperones and to share our special day. This is the trip we look forward to all year! It's worth waiting for!
