We use the Treasury of Literature series by Harcourt Brace. The fourth grade edition is called Emerald Forest. Students work on projects and activities developed from the text stories. All students participate in daily SSR. |

Spelling lessons and written language skills practice coordinate with the thematic units in our reading text. Students write original stories and type them on the computer using skills they have learned from the "All The Right Type" computer program. |

This is our first year in the Everyday Math Program. We are learning new approaches to problem solving and methods of computation. The class enjoyed the unit on naming and constructing geometric figures. Twice a week, we use the math programs in the computer lab and in our classroom to reinforce basic math skills. |

Students research and write reports using reference materials from the library and the Internet. We study units on animals, the sun, oceans and ocean animals. A new kit filled with rocks and minerals is a fun learning experience for the Fourth Graders! |

Class Newspaper - published in the Spring. Each students writes an article about a special event or field trip that has happened at Lincoln School during the year. |

Book Report projects - written reports and "hands on" activities such as constructing a diorama scene, making book jackets, puppets, designing T-shirts and a "how to" step-by-step report and projects encourage students to enjoy reading. |
