Cognitive skills, like other skills, are integrated into all activities of the EC day. Concepts such as "big", "little", colors, shapes, animals, and numbers are taught as the children are developmentally ready.

Occupational and Physical Therapies are provided to students if needed. To make therapies relevant to the child's educational program, physical, occupational, and speech therapies are a part of all classroom activities.

Minimal "pull-out" therapy takes place, although at times it is necessary and appropriate. As therapy takes place in the classroom, children develop independence as they practice functional skills in a meaningful setting.

We attend physical education one time per week with the physical education specialist. Mrs. Szalapski bases her classes on the needs of the children as well as on the current unit of study. The children call her "Mrs. S".
